Hi all was wondering if some one could help me find out why i cant get emule to work with the following router DSL-504G

The help pages are only giveing you a "WALK THROUGH" for every model of D-Link routers but the 504G model [:0]
Which can be found here for other user's that need help:

http://support.dlink.com/faq/search.asp?question=open+ports

or

http://tomyy.preinheimer.com/asp.php?view=dlink

I am no IT expert so some screen shots would be great

And as i see that D-link larnies are trolling the forum would you please put some screen shots on the above on your website just like you did here http://www.d-link.co.za/adsl_modems.htm but with mIRC emule games etc would be nice .........

Thanks for any help

Got it working.. no thanks to anybody
This isn't the best solution though,
setting a NAT RDR rule, problem is
when the router gets assigned a new IP
from the ISP, I have to recreate the rule.

So if anyone can help with a better solution it would be appreciated
[Think i found a way and put the IP block range owned by Telkom in ][Is this the correct way ?]
_______
UPDATE:

now I notice that DCC Send from mIRC is crashing the router and it
has to be powercycled!
Anyone know if a firmware update will fix this? or any other workaround.

Newbie question, but now my settings in NAT RDR aren't having efect
and I notice that the rule i created has disappeard. Is this a Reboot
without commit? I also saw in a manual, about saving the configuration... where is this setting in the web config ?
Cause not even do I have to set the rule everytime the ISP changes is,
now it's on a maybe crash on DCC.[Fixed with commit and reboot !][mIRC still broken ;(]

______
UDATE:
Dlink 504G is not giveing me droped connections been on eMule now for 24 hours no problems and downloading @ 25.4 Uploading @ 12.7 nice little router for now.........

Please email this supplier if you have any suggestions:

I never could get emule to work at decent speed (Netgear modem).

Have you tried Kazaa Lite K++ with KaNat? It can handle the IP address change and gives good download rates.

Emule is working fine:
12/6/2003 13:43:49: New ClientID: 37640370xx

Kazaa isnt my first choice for downloading "Game Demos "
but thanks anyway [:)]

Please go to www.dlink.co.za and download the new patch for the DSL-540G if you have problems with a dropping line every few minutes, and in the web config, please go to admin -- commit & reboot, first commit after making changes and then reboot the unit. Any further questions, please contact me, I'm glad you got my mail about the NAT rule and that it is working.

Hi,
I'm also using D-Link router for ADSL. Have problems with Ports 80 / 110 & 25. From Port scans, it seems Telkom is blocking them higher up.
It doesn't matter what I do on my network re Firewall settings. Even if I completely disable same, it has no effect. The port scan quotes a completely different IP to the dynamic "front end" IP of my router which is always 165.165.*.*. It quotes something like 198.*.*.*.

Question - Does Telkom block the ports? If so, which SP does not?

Question to D-Link - I've tried opening ALL ports on the router to RDR to my server - still no luck. Any magic trick I can try?

Thanks,
Jan Koster

Can somebody tell me (in detail)how to setup my 504G
to wor with edonkey?

Thanks
Ashook

Dear Iceman,

For what purpose do you want to open the ports?
Please visit www.dlink.com.sg go to tech support on that page click on setup procedures, go to broadband devices and select DSL-500G, this will help you with the opening of ports and services, it is a power point presentation.
