D-Link crazyness

Anyone here with good D-Link DSL-2540U experience?

The username field in the setup wizard acccepts only 21 characters. My username has 22. I could not find ANY other means of giving my modem the username and password (I simply cannot find it in the Web interface menus).

Any suggestions? (No, getting the ISP to shorten the username does not sound like a viable option)

It complains about not seeing an ADSL connection. Guess I need to try this from home then.

Also, the modem has a slightly different look to the one shown on the emulator page. (from memory) the silvery strip does not run around the sides and is flush with the rest of the case.

Secondly, the interface has the newer brownish D-Link design and the menu options are slightly different as well.

I see on the D-Link home page that some of these models shipped with a Russion CD. I think mine's one of them. It does allow you to change it to english, but maybe it causes some weird error? (I have downloaded the english version CD from the D-Link site and will try again tonight)

Long story short; I found where in the web interface to enter the username (it accepts more than 21 characters).

All sorted now.
