Hi

I made the slightly shortsighted purchase of a DI624 unit 2 months ago while still on MyWireless. The MW modem connects via ethernet cable to the DI624.
My question: I'm seriously considering moving to ADSL and want to know in terms of hardware what the cheapest and best way is to get connected.

Do you still get standard ADSL modems without the router features that can connect to the DI624 via ethernet?

Is it as straight forward as getting another D-Link like the DSL300T? This unit has DHCP etc as well so it would be duplicating the feature from the DI624 unit.

I have the DI-624 from my MyWireless days as well. I'm using the telkom router/modem in bridge mode and connecting as per normal using the dlink router. cheapest option... use the free modem/router

The DSL-300T is discontinued, get the DSL-2500U.
It works.

Why waste more money? What Brollocks has will work and it wont cost a cent. Which as far as I'm concerned, is the cheapest and best way.

If you have read what Brollock said you would have seen that he is looking for an ADSL modem, not he has an ADSL modem or he wants to stick with his MW.
He is looking for a new ADSL modem that supports bridged mode, that can work with his DI-624. Yes, a Telkom modem will work.

The thing I'm saying is instead of buying a DSL-300T (again he's looking for a new modem) which is discontinued, buy one that is new in the market like the DSL-2500U.

And as I've been saying. Get the FREE modem with the self install. Don't go buy a modem. If you use the telkom modem/router as a modem and not a router, there is no additional cost.
