Would it be possible to create to concurrent PPPoE connections with the D-Link DSL-2640U router? With the original (factory) firmware router, I can only have 1 PPPoE connection in conjunction with Bridge mode. Would newer firmware allow me to create multiple PPPoE connections? Otherwise its useless for me to update.

I can't seem to find any firmware for this router, except for those from the Russion site: ftp://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/ADSL/DSL-2640U/Firmware/readme.html
My router's H/W ver: C1, F/W ver: RU_1.00 -> thus DSL-2640U/BRU/C
I'm not sure if the Russian firmware would be in English or not, but I would guess that it is in English, since my firmware version also stated "RU"?

Can anyone verify for me if that firmware is indeed got an English web & telnet interface, because I really don't want to have a router with Russian admin interfaces :)

Just found a firmware upgrade for my B2 hw on the Russian D-Link site
Firmware is in English

Notes for the C hw - web translation from Russian

5. The option ` Retry PPP password on authentication error ` in adjustments PPPoA of joint is added.
6. Mistake DHCP of the joint is corrected, not allowing to work PPP and MER PVC in parallel (for example, it is actual for service ЮТК the Mediazone).

After updating an insertion it is necessary to dump arrangement to factory installations and to recustomize.

UPDATE NOTES
New versions of insertions for DSL-2600U/BRU/C and DSL-2640U/BRU/C are available.

The list of variations:
1. At use of PPPoA-connection some sites did not open (is corrected).
2. Multicast the traffic now is blocked through the wireless interface
3. On page Device Info> WAN the information on the status of PPTP-connection (PPTP Info) is added.
4. On page Advanced Setup> PPTP option Always On is added. If the option is included, in case of breakage of PPTP-connection, the router restores it.

Thanks stocksie, I'll try the new RU firmware.

Its quite weird that the link that you gave works now, because it asked me for a password yesterday...

Maybe someone can help with this?

I have entered two ISPs details into my DSL-2640U router, but want to know how select one or the other to establish a DSL connection. currently it uses the one I entered first and I can't see where I can select which account to make a connection? Also, is it possible to run two connections concurrently with this router and then seperate the traffic between the two?

The reason behind also this is for COD:BO my current WebAfrica account is going to make playing BO online a impossibility, so I have a Afrihost free account and need to sort this out.

DenSweep: I'm not sure if the DSL-2640U can do this, but my DSL-2500U can do traffic splitting :)

There's a generic traffic splitting script, started by dawbomb, and I've given the changes required for the DSL-2500U: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...elkom-Router?p=4596800&viewfull=1#post4596800
I'd suggest that you check out that link and then log in on your router using Telnet and then type in 'ifconfig' and then pm me the results.

Alternatively, you could setup the router in half-bridge mode, which entails that your router only dials 1 PPPoE connection and then you can dial additional accounts from other network devices (like your PC for instance). To enable half-bridge mode, you'll have to disable/delete the second PPPoE interface that you've created and then edit the first PPPoE interface where you enable the 'Bridge PPPoE frames' (I can't remember exactly what it was called) option.
