I have a weird issue.
I have a D-Link DSL-604T DSL wireless router. It is working perfectly with my desktop PC - Wired via CAT5.
I also have a notebook with which I was able to connect via wireless without problem. Now however, when I connect up the notebook - instead of just connecting to the network, I get a new connection in the WinXP network connections window:
Under "Internet Gateway"
I have the following:
"Local Area Connection on DSL-G604T.....Internet Gateway ... Connected ... etc."
I have never seen this before, and now my notebook cannot resolve DNS, ping anything other than the router and generally it just does not work. the only access that I have is to the routers web config page. I have tried disabling DHCP, entering all the gateway and DNS IPs manually...no go.
I thought that you only got the Gateway thing when you used ICS...which I am not.
Windows/networking gurus please help. This is seriously p!ssing me off as I need to use the notebook to VPN to my office.
BTW I have tested a wired connection to the router and get the exactly same problem.
edit: WinXP updated recently..
