If anyone has this router / has upgraded to the latest firmware:
DSL-G604T_V2.01.B01T01RU.20060320

Please tell me if you had any problems / What changes, if any have you found / noticed.

Thanks - always a bit hesitant to do a firmware upgrade...

One tip: Don't upgrade it in Firefox, rather do it in Internet Explorer. My firefox got stuck or something and just stayed on the flashing screen. I left it for an hour and a half to make sure that it flashed and then I unplugged the router  Lucky for me it did flash properly. There are 2 files to upgrade, switch to IE for the second file and it flashed and restarted back at the login screen. I have a 504t btw

Not sure if it's the same for the 604t but on the 504t, v2 = adsl 2, 2+ compatible and you need to flash it with a certain version of firmware before you can put on the latest. So check up on that too ;)

and Good luck :)

Yea just did it now, lol. The interface never did work quite well with firefox...

Quite a nice firmware upgrade i do say, some nice new added features. Unfortunately no simultaneous bridge + pppoe :(

Wow, the best thing about it seems that:
Rx Total Error Counts = 0 so far.
Compared to the 932 i use to get ever hour or so ;)

mine works fine in FF. heh.. i upgraded a friends with the utility.. cause it was still ver 1, 504t.. and it crashed and we thought it was stuffed. But i managed to do it again properly. Apparently the inital upgrade is revision specific.. so i got a B one him an A. Anyways its all working now :) if only there was 3rd party hacks of the firmware.

Yea, i think you could do some nice things with firmware hacks. eg: pppoe and bridge at same time ;) lol

Hey Ziglet,

I have this router and am loving it! Running July 2006 Australian firmware... I have managed to hack the thing to a certain extent, you may wanna check out a post of mine from a couple of weeks back http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=52541.

My google page has the firmware I use on my router, packaged into an exe file, so no need to use the web interface (which is the one thing that is seriously lacking on the G604T).

Cheers
