I recently bought a D-Link N300.

My old Telkom modem was singing like a jet and thought it good to replace it.

I am struggling to set the new modem up. The CD-setup keeps crashing and I cannot 10.0.0.2 connect to the router to set it up manually.

My old Belkin Telkom modem still works.

Any advice?

Open command prompt, type "ipconfig" and look for your default gateway(assuming you're already connected to it).

The default gateway is still 10.0.0.2 according to ipconfig.

I already tried 192.168.1.1... no luck.

The thing that worries me is that I do not see the other computers on the network when the D-Link is plugged in.

My old Belkin still acts as a router even when the internet is disconnected.

Thus the D-Link has no network visibility whatsoever.

Should I send it back? Or am I just stupid?
