D3: High Level Char Stats

Snow, you say Act 2 was faceroll? Our stats are basically identical (if those are buffed stats). Act 1 I can let 2 arcanes pass through me and survive with LoH. Act 2 one arcane is sometimes too much. Desecrators too, Act 1 I can survive 2 maybe 3 desecrator pools, act 2 one pool is the limit and I've gotta move. Basically for me act 1 = left click + SW ftw, act 2 = use all the spells!! Am I missing something?

Aw also got my monk to 60 on Friday and finished Act 2 (pretty much faceroll), but I need some more resists for Act 3

Stats (I'll try and remember, have to update later)

HP: 36k
Armor: +-5k
Dodge: 46% ? Cant really remember
Resists: +-530
Dmg: 19k (22k self buffed)
AS: 1.76 (Dual wielding with 2 x daggers)
Loh: 1500 (only have loh on my 2 daggers + 2.5% life steal, but that heals next to nothing in Inferno)

Build: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#ahigXY!ZXU!aacYbY

HP: 48k
Armor: +-5k
Dodge: 42% ? Cant really remember
Resists: +-750
Dmg: 15k (15k self buffed, no skills for dmg increase)
AS: 1.40
Loh: 1800

DPS, on the low side, but incredibly survivable build with almost 2k LOH (should have that with my new LOH rings, not tested yet).
Act 2 quite easy part from Belial, too low dps for the enrage timer. Even killing molten health desecrate fast mobs solo when the two DPS'ers I teamed up with last night bailed out due to deaths, and waited in town ;)

I hate kiting, and rather search for some creative places to stand while slowly taking down my enemies. For molten creeps, I try and find a spot where my back is against a wall with limited access in front of me so that only 1-2 mobs can attack at the same time works for chains as well. Desecrate I just keep on moving. Plagued, I use Vortex to pull them out of their own puke.

For act 3 and 4 my dps just does not cut it solo, takes ages to take anything down, though possible.
If only I could afford another weapon with +1200 LOH, and more than my 800 dps :(

Ye bud it was pretty much faceroll. It was really very easy (dinged 60 Friday night, finished Act 2 Sat morning). It might just be me as I was used to farming Act 3 pre-patch with my barb and that was a massive challenge for a melee.

You are not suppose to be hit by things like Arcane or stand in things like desecrator. While that is not something one has to really worry about in Act 1 farming runs and a lesser degree Act 2, it will kill you quickly in Act 3/4 unless you really really nicely geared. So I think its good to be ready from the start.

I'm very used to attacking without moving (default shift, mine is bound to space). Helps massively for my barb, but on a Monk with FoT & Thunderclap its different and that ability can get you into trouble also.

The most important thing for me is probly 'move without attacking' I have that bound to middle + side mouse button.

When the content is hard I don't get hit by things out of my CDs. Attack, move a step or 2, attack, move a step or 2 is a pretty standard way of playing for me as melee in new or challenging content.
If yo u constantly get hit by things you can avoid during progression content then you doing it wrong :)

Granted some elite packs in Act 2 can be hard, but I did not skip one pack in my clear.

Thats not faceroll then.... which explains alot! I feel better now :D

Most of that was explaining general play and a mindset you should have with Act 3 etc in mind (I posted all that cause you made it sound like ppl should not care what abilities mobs have and to note that Act 2 is really really easy vs Act 3/4 even thou the game now generally is 40% easier than it was pre-patch for melee)

By pretty much faceroll I mean its really easy and playing Act 2 with 1 hand while drinking coffee until I find an elite group then just zerging them except if there are to many arcane things or a few molten crap under me or they want to freeze me out of my 1 CD. All that while not dying much at all and not skipping any elites.

Faceroll does not mean u ignore everything and stand in fire with 10 arcane lasers around you. You still play the game, its just very very easy :)

Woot! no probs, we must jam inferno again! how did the shopping go yesterday? Find a big axe? Getting that dps up is key, then finding a good monk/barb tank then = profit!

Haha, have not bought the 1k weapon :o I am wondering if a 500dmg want + ilvl61-63 offhand could compete with a 2 hander doing 1.1k dmg.....

I still have to do Act I inferno, because as soon as I finished Hell diff. I switched to my monk and got it to lvl 13, then my DH to level 33 :)

You should get a decent 1 H weapon at 800dps range for cheaply on the AH (under 50 000gold). If you don't, I have a blue one with ~800dps you can have.

To be honest, i preferred the way the loot and the elite packs worked pre-nerf. You got more value for your kills, now you get mostly unusable stuff even with the guaranteed rare drops. i did however find an awesome source that sold for 20 million gold.

I have found about 12 legendaries, all pretty much useless. I have however found 2 x tal rashas which sold for a nice amount.

My monks stats:

25k dps (28k dps buffed)
694 strength
2084 dex
160 int
881 vit
7883 armour
1157 resists

The amulet, rings and weapon I want are in the region of about 300 million gold. Its goign to take forever to get that kind of gold but once I have that my dps will be +-40k. I have geared fully as a monk tank and I have decided to remain that way.

So I did some tinkering with Conan last night and ended up with an overall improvement....

Level: 60
Armour: 4.9k
Dodge: 21%
Block: 0%
Resists: ~400
Damage: 15.9k
HP: 26.5k
AS: 1.4 (using Frenzy so have an effective 75% IAS)
LoH: 750

I can increase my resist all by ~100, but it comes at the expense of both HP and damage, so I'm holding off for now...
Will post my proposed build in the builds thread.

Wow, then I am guessing an off hand and a 800dps weapon (1H) will be beter than a 2H with DPS 1.1k due to the added bonusses.

Thanks I will go have a look tonight or tomorrow night :D

Your OP monk is really.... OP bud. Seriously though, your monk is seriously tough.... I also need to (seemingly) craft an item with high DPS/LoH. Anyhoo, here is what I have to degrade my Barb to, in order to have some survivability in Act 2.

Armour: 5.4k
Dodge: 20%
Block: 0%
Resists: 450-500
Damage: 18k
HP: 34k
AS: 1.2
LoH: 600

I actually could not believe my HP. That to me is unnaturally high :D Oh the times have been hard on me.
Sadly as many items as I have that could increase my DPS, staying alive (resistences) is a little too important to me.

@Phree MeOw how things have changed. I remember when I did Act 2 my barb needed about 800 resist all and 45k ish HP with 30%+ block thou I did only have 12k dps, but no amount of dps would have worked back then.

@Archer Regarding the monk, I think mine has a little bit more armor & dodge, the same Loh & AS, like 24k dps, but 40k hp and 750 Resists, but I felt like I needed more for Act 3 elites. Probly 100-200 more resist all as Arcane, molten, dese, plague kills me within seconds there. Very harsh as u can only save yourself once every 20 sec with abilities and 40 000 lasers all over the place with tons of walls & jails being cast on you makes it inevitable and 1% skill based (and then that 1% is pressing Serenity and not personal skill)

If I wanted to, I could finish act 3 with my current stats though I'll probably die once to 1 in 3 elites. Each time I've tried act 3 and died to an elite, half or more of the elites have been on 20% HP or less. So I dont need more resist, I need higher damage. Its exactly the same situation I had in act 2 initially. I couldnt run act 2 efficiently with 19k dps (but I could finish it), but now with 26k dps (all other stats the same), I can solo everything, and most packs without touching Serenity. Of late I either use it cause I'm lazy and the mobs is almost dead anyway, or I got ambushed and am actually fighting 2 elite packs at the same time. So all in all, I dont foresee myself going over 700 AR, 6k armour, 35k HP for act 3, its not needed. What I will need however is 35k+ dps. This no skill required thing is nonsense imo (until you're overgeared of course).

Having been gone from the game for the past 3 weeks, thats quite a serious update!

What DPS are you weapons sitting on currently?

How is your damage over 25k? if I equip 2x 700 dps weaps I sit on 16k dps.

29.5% crit chance, 194% crit damage, 31% faster attack speed (incl dual wield bonus), 1966 dex. Take out the crit stuff and I would be around 16k dps as well
