D5 Evo wont work on cold mornings off the remotes

I have a D5 Evo that will not respond to the remotes when its cold, like early mornings. As soon as it warms up its fine again. During cold weather the electric gate responds perfectly to the intercom trigger, but not the remotes.
I have replaced batteries, checked the aerial. Sometimes if you try the remote right next to the gate motor box it responds but on colder mornings nothing happens. None of the installers seem to know whats causing this problem. Weird.

when it's really cold, try warming up the receiver and then see if the remotes work? Perhaps it's got a dry solder joint and when the metal contracts, connectivity breaks.

Try getting an installer to replace the circuit board. Mine used to open/close very slowly when it was cold, it was resolved after the circuit board was replaced.

You got ripped off. You just needed a new 12v battery.

As already posted. A dry joint somewhere. In the remotes themselves is the easiest to check out. The most common problem is corrosion on the battery, leading to a poor contact that is exacerbated by the cold weather.
The next is a similar problem in the motor housing. One of the most common is ant infestation. They invade these things in cold weather and cause all sorts of problems.

And yes, you got ripped off by the board replacement. Check your invoice and see if it included a battery replacement as well.

One I saw recently was a guy who decided he could not connect the spade terminals available to the battery he bought (a generic replacement instead of the real thing) . So went and made up an "adaptor" to be able to connect the battery. This adaptor used dissimilar metals, which led to corrosion on the battery terminals. He had 4 perfectly good batteries in his garage (about R 300 a shot) none of them had a problem. Just cut the mess off and replaced the spade terminals to ones that would fit the battery. ( about R 3 total cost).
