DA Councillor Iversen in Scuffle

No, just find it's an odd fact to leave out given the story is about him and the hotel.

Either way, I don't trust politicians regardless of party. Imagine if it was Marius Fransman? This thread would be a lot longer.

Why should it be included... He had his reception there...it's totally irrelevant in my opinion unless there is evidence he was given the reception for free in exchange for something

I dunno, sure if it was any other day that the couple decided to stay at the hotel. But it seems they were there at some point on their wedding day. The group that is making these accusations probably know this, I just wonder why the councillor decided to omit it.

'Coz he's slippery. The Speaker also told him not to do site inspections, which he ignored.

Taranis, kindly elaborate on these deals and complaints you brought up and since when is providing “in kind” as a donation a bribe?

In the real world, you cannot expect to receive anything without asking, donations work on the same principle as recruiting, you need to get out there and ask.
He chairs the planning meeting and steers the whole committee how to vote. Imagine now trying to decide which plans to approve knowing the lady who owns the property donated so much food. Corruption 101.

The video looks horrible :/ I honestly thought it was something from like 20 years ago >.< The guy asking the questions sounded so fake. If he is supposed to be an actor, he's a horrible 1 :/ The councillor guy should not have gone that far though, provoked or not. He knew he was being filmed and he still lost his temper...But at the very least his punishment should be to shave that moustache off and to never be allowed to grow it again >.<

No action will be taken against the councilor:

More than a year after a Democratic Alliance councillor was caught on video getting into a scuffle with a resident in Claremont, he is officially off the hook.

Ian Iversen tussled with Darron Araujo when he and other DA councillors were inspecting a wall following complaints from residents.

Yesterday, the city council voted in favour of a disciplinary committee report that found Iversen had not compromised the municipality's credibility and integrity . Araujo could not be reached for comment.

They call that handbagging in rugby, nothing serious and neither of them would get a yellow card.
