This just in: Politicians don't give a damn what you want, they just want to be in power.
It's one thing to leverage your opposition to gain momentum, but this would be ridiculous. For me it is not only because the EFF have not even been tested in an actual vote yet, but purely because the EFF embodies everything that is wrong with South African politics, and this country. I have been a staunch DA supporter for quite some time, but if something like this ever had to happen, I'd drop them like a hot potato. I'd rather see the ANC remain in power than see the EFF get any more airtime.
I simply don't know DA voters can or would support this. Considering what the EFF stand for and have been preaching. In my mind, they would like nothing more than to see the whites chased into the see. Malema can say he loves white people as much as he wants, I think anyone with 20 brain cells sees through him and his agenda.
I understand that coalition might be the best way to take Gauteng, but at what cost?
