Anybody else watching the launch via eNews? Should be interesting to see what they propose

So far I like how balanced it is. Well the overview of the document anyway. Most of the proposals we have heard before, but never before have they been compiled into a solid coherent vision. The document is very politically correct and refrains from using obvious terms like "Blacks, Whites, HDIs, or previously advantaged". But the terminology used like "Insiders and Outsiders" will be acceptable to most people I guess.

It would be interesting to see the reaction of the conservative DA fanbois on this forum who repeatedly profess to being against most economic policies of the day, however, in the DA Plan, there is no noticiable shift from them. Just an "enhancement" of BBBEE and Land reform to name a couple...

It's an economic policy designed to balance the need to win votes and to also further the DA's economic agenda. I think it balances things pretty well and at this rate radicalism from the DA won't win them many votes I think.

At the end of the day we all know this won't mean much to the voter in the street but ultimately it's something to campaign with.

Not sure if I qualify, but from the material actually available on the DA site, it seems the telling difference (that you refer to as an "enhancement") is that it actually becomes broad-based instead of friends, business partners, former and current ministers, inlaws and outlaws.

I was not debating the enhancement part, I was just curious what some of the folk on this forum that refer to BBBEE/AA/EE as "reverse apartheid/racism" will feel that its not going anywhere under the DA...
