DA reaches 4 million votes

As I said in the Johannesburg thread, Tshwane and maybe Joburg will be quite interesting to watch in local elections in 2016.

Agreed. Progressively the DA are gaining votes. Election 2014 has shown that the dastardly deeds of No. 1 do not seem to bother the loyal vote. Perhaps the lack of service delivery might move more.

Edit: talking of which, I see in PE (Nelson Mandela Bay?), the ANC haven't reached 50%.

No but they may very well have done 15 %. Remember this is the ANC.
They learned very well from Mugabe and their other cronies.
I do not for one minute believe everything was above board

Doesnt every station/ward need the parties to agree to the count? Surely party members would know the turn out and ibject if the numbers were off?

Claims of mass vote rigging is retarded. The DA would be the first to complain, and they aren't. Take the loss graciously and move on. Almost every voting district has an opposition party representative who signs off on the votes. And Western Cape and Gauteng were also largely independently audited (I know a few auditors who did this).

marine1 is very uninformed.

Great to see an overall improvement in the numbers.

7 mil? I call BS as well. But don't those machines scan everybody? What's the tally from those machines?

Slightly related: As for all of those discarded ballots - Did we not have observers monitoring the IEC every step of the way of this vote?
I recall some auditing firm representative on the radio a few weeks before talking about this. Perhaps I was mistaken?
