It appears the DA is just as myopic as the ANC. A whistle-blower, who outed a top cop as a scammer who fleeced motorists in the Cape, is feeling the pain after the council refused to reinstate him with full pay.

The whistleblower, Metro Police Officer Gavin Knipe, has also blown the lid off the sordid relationship between top cop Henry Swift and a civilian called Mr Boer.

Swift allegedly squashed all the warrants served on Mr Boer in exchange for discounts and satellite dishes. The dossier has been given to the South African Municipal Workers Union.

The union accuses the city of harassing Knipe. He has been victimised and his salary withheld for three months. He was also placed on night duty.

Not so long ago the DA condemned the manner in which the ANC dealt with whistle-blowers. It has learnt nothing from the ANC's blunders but is enthusiastically victimising its enemies.
Source.

Weak story.
Why was Officer Knipe suspended in the first place? Where is the comment from the council, and surely the reappointment of an officer would be up to senior police officials and not up to the council?
Clearly not the full story. More like the fail story.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Chickens coming home to roost it seems.

Yip, fail reporting.

It looks to be a opinion editorial type thing more than a article.

Metro Police is employed by the Council, not SAPS.

That story is so weak on actual content...

It looks like an opinion piece and nothing more.
