DA to weigh tie-up with ruling ANC

I hope I'm wrong, but in the even that the ANC loses their majority, the only way I see this play out is the ANC and EFF forming a coalition, with EFF crazies taking some key positions and extracing some braindead concessions from the ANC. I can't imagine a world where the ANC allows a party lead by a white man to hold the balance of power.

Politics is more about control of resources than anything and not want you want to hear.

At the end of the day, decisions are not based as much as giving into the "party lead by a white man" but more about what will benefit them strategically. For instance, if Malema's business interests are better served by having DA leadership, EFF will support DA as they have done in the past.

This applies to every party. They aren't interested in bettering the lives of people as much as you think. They are all in it for themselves.

Similarly, Hersov almost certainly supports DA ardently not because he's interested in bettering SA but because his businesses will flourish under DA leadership due to connections etc. Most businessmen typically do not speak openly about politics unless their interests benefit from supporting a brand or leader.

The ANC will at long last finally be embraced on this forum, as the favourite party goes into bed with them.

You must go to bed with the corrupt ANC, otherwise it goes with the EFF and Julius Malema becomes your president.

The ANC would rather see SA burn to the ground, than work with the DA.

100% correct

The ANC will at long last finally be embraced on this forum, as the favorite party goes into bed with them.

You must welcome the relationship with the corrupt ANC, otherwise it goes with EFF and Julius Malema becomes your president.

If going into bed with DA benefits their pockets more than going into bed with EFF, they will go into bed with DA.

The political discussions behind the scenes between parties are very different to what we hear via the media and what happens on Mybb. Some of them along party lines are even friends in real life even though they may appear arch-enemies on TV.

It's a bit like WWE in a way. Randy Orton and John Cena may talk trash about each other on TV and some kids may think they hate each other but in real life, they are good friends.

Spinning the narratives
"The DA is under “significant pressure” from business leaders and commentators to consider linking up with the ANC,” according to Steenhuisen. The decision isn’t that simple or clear-cut, but “it will have to form part of the thinking of the variety of scenarios in the post-2024 environment,” he said."
Businesses are pressuring it, they need to put this into their discussions so it's not like they've said they are considering it, it's in the discussions due to business pressures.

Of course the higher ups are buddies but the average DA voter loathes the ANC and embracing them is a bitter pill to swallow!

Even them considering this as an option shows their true colours. How one could consider siding with their opponent as a form of resolution shows lack of direction, conviction and courage. They should be doubling down and reforming their party mandate to be inclusive and transparent for all. The idea of 'changing things from the inside' when it comes to the ANC is preposterous.

SA needs a real opposition party, one which stands for ALL people, and shows that in their actions.

The only reason to ever go into coalition with the ANC would be if your intention is to destroy them from within.

Careful what you wish for, he might be correct.

Do you want the eff(Can't make that smaller) to be in charge?

You can warn the people, but the people knows what is best.

And when the EFF gets to be in power, the people walk around with surprised Pikachu faces
