Dacia's new C-segment crossover, wagon, hatchback and SUV.

Dacia Striker revealed as sub-£22k petrol estate

New load-lugger will undercut its Skoda Octavia rival and offer range of petrol and hybrid powertrains

Dacia will continue its expansion into the market for larger vehicles with the launch of the Striker, a high-riding estate that will rival the Skoda Octavia and be priced from less than £22,000.

The new C-segment challenger, known as the C-Neo during its development, will be the firm's second quasi-estate model after the Jogger. It will join the mechanically identical Bigster SUV at the top of the Dacia line-up. While twinned with the Bigster, the new Striker is notably sleeker in order to broaden Dacia's appeal.

Brand boss Katrin Adt has previously said it is "a totally different offer to the customer than the Bigster". The Striker is slightly longer than its SUV sibling, at 4.62m, while its raked roofline sits slightly lower.

Dacia has yet to release full technical details of the Striker ahead of a full debut in June, but it will be based on the Renault Group's CMF-B platform that underpins most of the brand's line-up and it will be offered with a range of combustion powertrains.

A four-wheel-drive variant will be available from launch. This is expected to be the same set-up that was recently launched on the Bigster and the Duster: a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine paired with a rear-mounted electric motor for a combined 152bhp. Other powertrains offered are expected to be mild- and full-hybrid options that range from 138bhp to 153bhp.

An LPG version will also be offered in some markets, but that is unlikely to reach the UK. Dacia has not revealed the interior yet, but it is likely to be broadly identical to that of the Duster and Bigster.

Here’s your first look at the sub-£22k hybrid and LPG Dacia Striker

Dacia previews its new ‘multi-energy’ crossover

This is the new Dacia Striker. We know it to be a C-segment crossover that straddles the worlds of the humble estate car, hatchback and SUV, because that’s what Dacia has told us.

We also know it to be a crossover that’ll come with a few different drivetrains, like a hybrid version, a hybrid version with four-wheel-drive, and one powered by LPG, because that’s what Dacia has told us.

And now we know it to be a… good-looking car, because we can see the entire thing and not a close-up image of its nameplate which Dacia told us about last week. We do not know much more than this, because the Striker will be really really revealed in full in June 2026.

Dacia reckons on a starting price below €25,000 in Europe – around £21.6k – which gives you what it reckons is a “disruptive” silhouette and “strong aerodynamic efficiency”. There are daytime running lights, a panoramic roof, and… that’s about all we can ascertain from these launch images.

This is it: the sub-£25,000 Dacia Striker estate (that’s also an SUV and a saloon)

Dacia rolls every car segment into one affordable, medium-sized package

This is the new Dacia Striker. They should have really called it the new Dacia Everything Everywhere All At Once. Because its makers say it is an SUV, and a saloon, and an estate. Let’s just call it a 'Car'.

A cheap Car, because when it goes on sale, the Dacia EEAAO – sorry, Striker – will start from less than £25,000. Bit more than when it was first shown a few months ago, but still comfortably undercutting similarly sized things like Golfs and Astras and Corollas.

You’ve had a few months to digest the looks, so now we can talk about what powers them. There’s the Striker Hybrid 155 that pairs a 108bhp 1.8-litre four-pot petrol engine with a 48bhp electric motor, a starter-generator, a 1.4kWh battery and an auto ‘box.
Then there’s the Striker Hybrid 150 4x4, which offers up a tiny 1.2-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine on the front, a six-speed dual-clutch auto in the middle, and an electric motor on the rear.
