Dad shot dead after struggle with intruders

So sad that petty theft amounts to a father being murdered. Hope they catch and string up the feckers

Just so scary. My nephew and his family were victims of an armed robbery earlier this evening and I'm sitting here wondering how much more secure can we make our home. These criminals have no fear.

Typically, which makes it even worse because they become more trigger happy and witless.

Wonder why he struggled were they threatening to hurt him or his family?

Granted our Sa thugs by and large seem to enjoy raping and savaging victims so it's hard to tell if they will go that far until it's too late to fight back.
 
The crime in SA must be stopped.

I shudder to think what would happen if people entered my home, will possibly go down the same way, I'll do anything to protect my wife and child.

One could argue that he would have been better off not trying to confront them. Perhaps activate the alarm/panic button/etc. Actually thinking about it, I wonder whether he had an alarm at all. At 4 in the morning, one would expect the downstairs zones to be active.

Of course hindsight, 20/20
 
In SA, in a house, you really need a super secure dividing gate between your living area and your sleeping area...
