Dahua DSS Express log in issue

Good day everyone need some help please.
I have an IP cam at my office that I can log on with an app.
It connects through the router, no issues there and can view remotely.

I downloaded DSS Express to view on my PC. (client)
After install,
It asks for Username, password and IP, port.
I have tried username : system, admin
Password: admin, 123456, password and all combinations but it keeps saying Failed to login: request timeout.
I have entered my PC IP: 192.168.1.104 and used port 80
This is on startup after install.

Still no luck.

Perhaps there is another software product thats easier to use?

Any advice?

You need to enter the IP address of the camera.. the port may also not be 80, you could try 80 and then 8000 with the camera IP address.. you will know this works if you either get invalid user name password error or it logs in..

Which brand and model camera is it..?

I know this an old post, was looking for something else when I came across this. As with all Chinese products with very limited actual support it's difficult to find answers. So maybe this will help someone else loooking for help with DSS Express.

The DSS platform is a remote platform used by security companies and control rooms. It works on a server and client base. (2 computers, one is the server and the other the client. NB! Server and client can run on the same system)

The server is installed on site (so you need a dedicated PC or server) where cameras are. The client inturn will be your remote viewing station. The important thing to know is that you will not login to the actual camera or recorder but into the DSS Server software. You will need to open certain ports on your server side's router (depending on functions you need). You will also need a static public IP to allow remote connections to the server. It is a very powerfull system and allows recording, alarms and push notifications (Basicallty it can replace a physical NVR completely). But if you have one or two cameras this will not be the solution for you. You should rather use SmartPSS as the original OP did.
