I have a Dahua ITC413 licence plate recognition camera.

One of the settings is which plate algorithm is being used.
The options are:
Europe ALG
Middle East ALG
UNASUR ALG
Russian Speaking Counties ALG
North Ameria ALG

Default is Europe ALG. Anyone know if default is correct or a better option should be used?

EDIT: As much as this is a South African forum, I had better still say I am in SA and looking for the setting for a South African environment.

Are you part of law enforcement?

Europe is the closest. In France and Spain, the plates resemble those in use in the Western Cape

I used a Dahua ITC413-PW4D-Z1 which Reditron supplied. It worked out the box and is in use in a busy apartment building

The camera is about 10m from a sliding gate. It works better when a 50 watt floodlight is aimed at the gate

The cars are travelling very slowly through the gate

The software works ok, but playback is a bit fiddly
