Daily bread and whine
I have finally given up on getting anything that is both really useful and cost-effective in the form of broadband telecoms in this country.
Do I really need to give Telkom anything more than a passing mention? There are enough complaints about its ridiculous pricing and bizarre, bureaucratic service ordering system that I do not even need to add my voice to them anymore.
As for the Second Network Operator, that is very much like Father Christmas for me: I want so much to believe that it is real and will bring me something fantastical to enjoy, but I know I must face up to reality and realise it is just a myth to bring hope to those that have none.
Perhaps South Africa, with its lack of widespread broadband rollout, can sell itself to tourists as the place to get away from the hubbub of the online world.
