Any reason why Dakar coverage is a joke? I can't remember crap programming like Dec 09, Jan 10. Now there is a premier sporting event, the coverage sucks.

Yeah. 30mins per day is ludicrously short. Could easily be 2hrs+ and still be interesting.

It's always been this kuk unfortunately.
I recall when it was in africa, we had better coverage, especially when Alfie Cox did well in the bike class.

Last year the Dakar was awesome and this year it looks to be much the same or better. When you consider the extensive coverage they give to lesser events, it looks like another year of crap.

Roll on the competition!

No way.
Only 30 min per day.
For the greatest offroad motorsport event.
That deserves a 24hour HD channel

I'm still trying to decide if I should get DSTV later this year.
I need a recorder as well cause some American stuff ends up late Sunday night and early Monday morning.
And I work shifts.

I mainly want it for motorsport.
TV shows and docu's in 2nd place.

But from all the negative stuff I been reading I really don't know now.
Maybe save up and get uncapped or high capped DSL and download all the motorsport I want.
Come on.

Did you guys check the editing glitch in yesterday coverage (or day before can't recall...the off day)?

Narrator talked for a few mins then said "Sorry guys we'll have to do that all again". Vid rewinds 2 mins back and the narrator comments on the same scenes again.

DSTV is like a dozen channels of soccer with a few odds and ends thrown in. American sports aren't bad on ESPN.

Nothing is predictable, no Isle of Man in 2009. The Dakar isn't coverage, it's just a half hour recap of what happened. If anything it just frustrates you, knowing what you missed.
