Dam internet n phone line issues

so anyway this morning i see my modem flashing lights. It just keeps on re-syncing. so eventually it settles and i see that my download speed has been decreased from 4mb to just under 2mb. I go to the house pone to phone telkom about it and the phone isnt even working!! No dialing tone. I phoned the house phone from my cellphone and the call goes through n it rings on the cell, but he house phone doesnt ring at all. oh and to top it all off, my downstream line attenuation has increased from 40 to 50 !

Any ideas on what the problem is?

I need to get to someones house phone to contact telkom lol

I've got a similar problem. The lines are just dead. The ADSL is not not even syncing. I've checked everything on my side; switched cables, points, etc.
I cant dial from the house phone and when I dial the house phone from my cell, I can hear it ring on the cell, but the house phone is not ringing.
I called Telkom; everything is fine on their side ....... they will send a techie.
