:mad: D A M N DSTV I paid my subscription for the entire year R 4895.38 SAT BACK AND WATCHED THE CRAP THAT THEY REPEAT. I never got notice of the increase and the fact that it would affect me. so today I get a sms informing me that my account has been suspended and a further R929.08 is due. This is because of the price increase and they switched me off.:mad: To get reconnected i must cough up R50.00 I phoned these idiots and went off. End result I had to pay the R 929.08, but the reconnection fee was waved WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP.

Service in this country is going to the DOGS:mad:
 
I would have thought if you pay for the entire 12 months, you are not liable for increases. Just wishful thinking on my behalf?
 
if you pay in advance, you shouldnt be liable for the increase amount....what nonsense!

I'm a littkle behind the times on competition ... but anything happening? What's Telkom Media? Anyone else working on a set top box system soon? :/

WTF!? How did you sign up with them? Over the telephone? If so - get the recording and you will obviously notice that they did not mention anything about the increase rubbish. If on paper - did someone point it out to you?

Can one not go to Icasa with this or any other representative body?
Oh wait! Only the ASA earn their money in this country... :o
 
That is nasty...I agree , double check your contract.
An option like that will definitely have a clause to say that you are liable. If nothing is stated you could fight it BUT the problem comes in where you have already "admitted that you are at fault" by paying it.
You would have more to go on if you didn't pay them but I think that you should make a stink about it.
If i were you, get your paperwork together and go and SEE them...see how quickly a supervisor will assist you once you threaten to throw a tantrum in a que of future DSTV customers at one of their offices, the bigger the better I say, go to their head office in CPT at N1 City.

DSTV/multichoice are professional con artists. BEWARE!

the dumb sacks of sh*t deducted 3x the normal amount from my account beginning march. upon phoning them i get told that i requested the 'activation of a second decoder for my holiday home' in february!!! i nearly had a stroke when they told me that. still so fcking mad when i even think of this.
so i have now since phoned 4 times to have the extra bouquets deactivated, put a password on my account (look into this for your own security), and told them that i want the written proof or audio tapes that i requested this. i constantly get told they are retrieving the tapes and 'the supervisor' will phone me. still waiting for someone to phone me and tell me what they have found on these tapes and who requested it! i'm soooo ficking mad at multichoice i get all jittery when i phone them. gaaaaa! :mad::mad::mad:
