May he rest in peace, but exaggerating a man's legacy because he died is wrong.
He may have been a good producer, but if his music is loved and known by billions around the world he would be very well known.
True, but there's a limit. When it borders on the ridiculous you have to rethink the tribute.Exaggeration is the name of the game when someone has died, nothing is different here.
Look at the replies here. He was not legend. You are trying to overstate his fame and/or importance. At best he was known by a few people. Freddie Mercury, Jimmy Hendix etc, those are/were legendSo you know all the legends in the world let alone SA?

Freddie Mercury, Jimmy Hendix
I know Freddie Mercury and most of his songs but not a single song by Jimi Hendrix, that means Hendrix was never a legend.Who?
You and Excalibur probably don't follow same music trends and genres. It's therefore understandable that you have no idea who Dan Tshanda was. My youngest sister has no idea who Freddy Mercury was. However, this doesn't invalidate his legendary status.
This gentleman was well-known amongst people who listened to his music.
Question is, have you ever heard the name Jimi Hendrix? Or was my mention the first?I know Freddie Mercury and most of his songs but not a single song by Jimi Hendrix, that means Hendrix was never a legend.

Yes this, I can assure you that not many people in my circles know of Jimi Hendrix, even the more famous Freddy Mercury, It does not make them less of legends just beause some village in the North West don't know them. Ask the same people about Bob Marley and they will immediately know him.All @thechamp was doing was pointing out absurdity of your post. I'm pretty certain many people have an idea who Jimi Hendrix was.
Probably.Chances are you actually do know a song or two of Jimi's, but are just not aware that they're his or performances of his.
Absurdity? You will have to try harder. After his response, I decided not to even reply as he can see his reply is not even remotely applicable. Legend status means people are known, even if their work is not. Dan’s name and work is not known by most posters here. thechamp does not know know Jimi’s work, but because of his legend status, his name is.All @thechamp was doing was pointing out absurdity of your post. Go into some township or village and ask people there about Jimi Hendrix, you will be met mostly with blank stares, most MyBb posters not knowing someone is not a measure of anything, some of you guys were here with the usual "never heard of him" when HHP died, Prokid and many others. Thomas Chauke is a legend among the Shangaan community and their music, I bet you have never heard of him?Absurdity? You will have to try harder. I have a T-shirt with the following slogan on it “I am famous in certain parts of Primrose.” Quite applicable here.
