I often give my mom a list of things to download for me at her work, as its cheaper than me wasting my bandwidth at home :p lol

Anyways I asked her download virtualbox which is about 34,000KB, but when she bring the flash drive home, virtualbox is there in its full amount but with a .dap extension, i am assuming this is Download Accelerator Plus or something stupid. VirtualBox-2.0.2-36488-Win_x86.msi.dap

Removing the .dap doesn't work. This is about the 3rd time I asked her to get it, and all the time it comes up like this.

Anyone have any ideas as too why?

If it was Download Accelerator Plus that was used to download it, the .dap extension at the end means that the file did not download completely, that's why renaming it didn't work. Normally when the file is downloaded completely the .dap extension is removed.

The filesize can be correct, even though the file is not complete since DAP pre-allocated the disc space.

OK i did think that was the problem and explained to her, showed different methods to download but still not.
Will just dent my meager cap lol

Ask her to run teamviewer it's a application like vnc but you don't need to install anything and you also don't need admin rights on the pc. So you can basically view her screen and control her mouse to see what she is doing wrong.

nice one thanks:cool:

The major difficulties in using remote control software are firewalls and blocked ports, as well as NAT routing for local IP addresses.

If you use TeamViewer you don't have to worry about firewalls: TeamViewer will find a route to your partner.

If this works for me, TeamViewer will be my new all time favourite :D
