Darksiders - Good, Bad or Ugly?

I'm trying to get a really great game for my boyfriend (one the I can steal after he's finished)

I hear Darksiders is either great or crap.
What does everyone recommend?
To buy or find another game?
 
I will depend on his (and your) taste. If you like mythology about angels and demons (and liked the movie Constantine) you will most probably like Darksiders. (I like it alot) ;)
 
I have not played it yet, but from what i've seen from previews and trailers it looks awesome. I got one friend who has it and he says it's very good.But i will have to wait for the pc version which only coming in june:(
 
It all depends on what the 'both' of your taste is to games.

Darksiders is cool and I have been hooked on it since they did not release a GOW 3 for the Xbox 360 (Yes I know buy a PS3 if you wanted GOW 3)

Anyway I would maybe wait one or two weeks as the new Spilnter cell is on its way and I really think that is going to be cooler than Darksiders.

Dark siders is cool dont get me wrong if you can get both.
So far it is not very reptitive gameplay you get better upgrades on the way and powers return to you as you progress (alot like Prototype but no that repetitive)
You basically fight with a sword the rest of the game with a few new and bigger weapons.

Basically if you like GOW then you will love this.

That's exactly the opinion I was looking for. Find that far too much in games nowadays, that all the gameplay is so repetitive. Loved Prototype though because of the ownage and power progression. Definately going to get this game. Was thinking about getting God of War 3 too, because I thoroughly enjoyed Dante's Inferno and I hear they're pretty similar. Minus all the boobs.

By the way, Wasp... Borderlands = heart, except the ending was so disappointing :<
 
So it's for the PS3? Note that if you get GOW3 for your Bf that you won't get any attention from him for a while.
 
Played Darksiders on xbox and its very good. Enjoyed it much more than Dante's Inferno. Gameplay is fluid, graphics is excellent and leveling up and weapons is awesome. I recommend it.
 
If you played GoW3 first then Darksiders is "MEH". The storyline is good, the combo's are ok. The character "War" is OK aswell. I'm playing it for playing sakes to see what happens. Its not a game that I am losing sleep over, however, if you want a fantastic game, final fantasy 13 is Great aswell as Batman Arkham Asylum: Game of the year edition.
So basically if he doesnt have GoW thats 1st choice, then Darksiders. What about Bayonetta? Thats also pretty cool or even Ratchet and Clank: Crack of time (only if he likes platform games).

Aha! But wait...dlc, dlc, dlc! and then Online kaching. Thats the best part. Hope you playing online?
