Dashcams - Have One, Want One?

After seeing my fair share of crazy Cape Town driving (from all sectors) every day, I really want to buy a dashcam just to record some of it, then post it on YouTube for laughs and giggles (and maybe one day to name and shame).

It turns out that quality dashcams are one thing that the Almighty Takealot has practically no stock of. Does anybody know of a good South African importer/supplier?

Also, if you already have a dashcam, which model is it, and would you recommend it to others and why?

Any with new Ambarella chipset, or Mobius with super capacitor upgrade.

Ok, so while the crickets have been chirping here, I discovered this decent overview of some key points to consider with dashcams: http://dashboardcamerareviews.com/

I find it weird that the 'quality' manufacturers like Sony, Samsung etc haven't jumped onto this bandwagon. What's with all the dodgy Chinese brand names and confusing serial numbers? The new Garmin dashcams might be changing that, but it's still far too slow.

I did run a search for threads with 'dashcam' in the title, and only two came up.

Depends how much money you want to throw at it, really.

At this point in time I would check out the mini 0806.
