I am on holiday at the coast and using Afrihost mobile on my iPhone5 (linked to my MTN contract).
I thought my 2gb package would be plenty but within the first two days had depleted it all. At the time I figured maybe I had used it and wasn't the wiser. I promptly bought another 1gb package and reset the data counter on my iPhone.
As it stands now, my iPhone says I have consumed 367mb since the reset while the clientzone has almost 830mb of usage clocked up on that 1gb package.
I do understand that the phone data logger might not be 100% accurate but I wouldn't expect such a discrepancy. Also, I don't expect to have used a gig do data in two days. I have not loaded any YouTube videos, have received very few emails, a couple of whatsapp's (with a couple of photos but not more than 10) and the usual amount of social media.
I guess my question is:
> Is anyone else noticing extra ordinary data usage?
> Is there anyway I can actually query it? (The difference between what my phone thinks I have used and what afrihost thinks I have used)
> What are my next steps?
I am thinking of buying a normal MTN bundle and seeing if that gets consumed at the same rate as the phones data logger or at the 3x that the afrihost data is being used at to see if there is any trend
Thanks for any help thank can be offered.
