hello people. any feedback appreciated! im currently searching for a laptop that i can handle sas crunching files with upto a million records. now in my previous job i used a dell d630 that did the job adequately. im looking to futureproof.
the prices are crazy compared to overseas but thats another discussion. i think a high specification i3 would do the job. 4gb ram, at least 320gb hdd, high capacity battery but really will only be used for client presentations only. ive read that an aspect ratio of 1300 x .766 is minimum but 1700 x 900 is desired (cant remember exactly).
the brands are plentiful and some very expensive. i will be doing some development in visual studio as well as netbeans. dell has the best warranty, acer has the value for value proposition and hp seems to have alot of problems.
please share your experience! thanx. budget is about 6k and at incredible corruption there is a lenovo i3 for 3999! which seems very reasonable. budget could be stretched but the best course of action would be to identify 3 or 4 possibilities then wait for a sale.
what would your 3 or 4 possibilities be? budget can be stretched a bit.
