Data Bundle Prices - Cell C rep, please explain

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but why is Cell C's small data bundles more expensive then the OOB rate?
A 100MB bundle gets charged at 50c/MB, 250MB bundle @ 40c/MB compared to 39c/MB on OOB rates. PLUS bundles expire after 30 days, whereas "airtime" doesn't
Not buying a bundle and just using the equivalent airtime will give you more bang for your buck.

That is fairly obvious and exactly what I did. Still does not change the fact that bundles are supposed to SAVE you some $$$, not be more expensive

IMO it's just a scheme to make a quick buck from unsuspecting customers wanting a small bundle. Quite ridiculous I would say
