I bought one for my iPad a few weeks ago and I'd like to monitor before the OOB shark get's me ...

Thing is everytime I log on to www.vodacom.co.za I get the message 'No bundle information available' - probably for the last week.

Any other way to check - or do I need to phone them? :/

Don't know about Vodacom, but CellC has a neat little app called SimToolbox.
With that you can check Data Bundle, Airtime and a host of other features.

If you have a dialler on the iPad you can try *111# and choose the relevant options. They told me to put the SIM into a handset then dial *111# (which is a pain in the bum).

Thanks!

Do you have an example of a dialer?

The microSIM won't fit in a phone - and it is a pain :/

On the iPad?

I don't have those options?

Yea I check my 8ta online and used to check my Vodacom on the portal, but recently it's always giving me 'No information' issue.

It's so annoying because now I need to remove the SIM, get a MicroSIM > SIM adapter, stick it in another phone, enter the SMS, get the answer - and place it back in the iPad.

Do you have any idea what I'm thinking right now, bwana? ;)

EDIT : You have SIM applications on your iPad?

I'd be thinking that vodacom needs to sort their act out...

Yes, I have sim applications, well at least I have the menu. They don't seem to work though. The 8ta website is zero rated so no biggie.

If you can send a SMS from the iPad then you can try "MM" to 31050 if you are on contract.

Steve Jobs didn't believe in allowing the iPad to send or receives smss as 'it's not a phone' ...

So the only way is actually calling the contact center :/

I use bulkSMS to send and receive sms's from the iPad2 (paid service), but they give you a different number so it will not register as being sent from the sim in the iPad.

They should have just made an sms app that can send and receive using an iPad's sim, it would have been a million times better.

Fwiw... I just checked my vodacom balances on the website from my iPad and it loaded right up.

Just checked and it still says 'Bundle Information Not Available' - tried from two PC's and the iPad.

It picks up that I'm using the SIM in an iPad, amounts owning, dates, package etc - but the bundle information. It's been like this way over a week now. I was concerned perhaps maybe it meant I was over - but 155 just confirmed that I have 300+MB.

They've escalated the issue and given a reference number

Is it possible to check prepaid as well ?

IIRC that's an app for that. I downloaded it thinking I could use it too - but it's only for prepaid numbers

That's it - but I got no errors when entering my details ... just said it was a contract. Maybe further on in the app?

Odd for it to have errors if it's in the App Store - I thought that was the reason for everything needing approval before being allowed to be downloaded
