I am a 3 day old iPad owner and only today my data sim was activated

I am worried if I leave the data connection activated it will "chew"a my data

Is it safe to leave it on or should I turn it on and off as req

I only have wifi but family members with 3G leave it on

i leave my 3g on. the more apps you install and allow notifications for, the more data it will use. also set your email update time to something you prefer.

if you have wifi at home... just set it up and it will automatically use that when you're in the bubble.

Mine is on most of the time... Okay the time I want to be reached by mai. Other reason will be to squeeze a bit of battery if need be... But it does not extend the life by an amazing amount of time though

Check you push settings - I don't really enjoy push so I turn it off. Also try use WiFi most of the time.
Also, try it out, and keep tabs on your data usage. If it goes to quick well then maybe switching it on only when you need it will be a better idea. Enjoy!
