Hi there

I am not all that new to this forum but i keep losing or forgetting my password to login,so before i lose my memory completely i would just like to pose a question to the forum. Please correct me if im posting this thread in the incorrect place.

i wanted to know from you guys what data packages you guys use on your iphones as from personal experience i cant think that the miniscule data that our providers give us is enough.i am looking to at least have a bundle of about 1gb to satisfy my Twitter and Instagram addiction.i also would like to keep my number and i am about 12 months into my current contract and dont want to port to a other network.

thank you in advance for assistance.

Vodacom 500meg. Data bundle was part of the contract package. Make it on that most months... Kinda.

thanks for reply.im on MTN so i should look for some sort of package in that range.i forgot to add that i dont have internet at home (damn you Hellkom)so it would be my only form of access.i wonder if the add on bundles that MTN advertise are any good.

250-500 should be enough for twitter and instagram and a few other apps, I have 1gb and I'm a heavy user, I use about 900mb/month.

thanks Haldex,so which bundle do you use because im 100% sure i use more than 500mb?i would also like to leave my e mail pushing on (currently off to save data) so i think 1gb would be sufficient as i do use other apps but generally use those two more frequently.plainly put i dont want to worry about running out ever.

Eish. 1gb on 3G has got to be very expensive, no?

Thank goodness for ADSL at home. R49 for 1gig Telkom topup vs R99 for 250mb Vodacom 3G...

Let us know what you decide on. Would be interested to hear...

On Vodacom's 750 MB Data Cap. Halfway through the month I have already eaten through that, and if I don't find a WiFi connection somewhere, I get an additional out of data charge. SA's mobile just isn't affordable, and our American and European counterparts are shocked to see how much we pay for such mediocre connectivity.

Cassady, whats do you pay for line rental?Im still looking around hopefully i'll find something soon as im constantly left for dead by my bundle.Mav3r1ck a truer word has never been spoken.why we put up with it no one knows.i guess we have no other way.

Wow, you guys use a lot of data on your iPhones a month. I always used to use about 250mb - 500mb pm but since I have uncapped ADSL at home and at work I now usually only use about 50mb :)

If you have wifi at home you can get away with less. Personally I say get a lot! Try 8ta or Cell C for nice cheap data. I use the Cell C 2gb per month deal.

I have to agree here... that is a crap load of data! Though I do tend to go through my 150mb bundle quite quickly as well.. I get by with it, but only because I spend 80% of my time connected to some form of uncapped, via wifi. Would hate to see how much data actually goes through my iPhone

150 mb? I call that whiling away a lazy Saturday afternoon on Youtube.

Don't have an iPhone (... yet. Contract upgrade coming in August). My iPad runs on a 3GB Vodacom bolt-on. And yes, I have iBurst uncapped at home.

Use about 150mb-odd per month on my iPhone, mostly to checkmail when I'm out of the office, and then on stuff like Facebook and WhatsApp. Mostly iMessage as well too.

I have a 275mb bolt-on with my contract @ R99/m
