I have always used EasyRecovery (On TracK) for retrieving files from usb, disks, HDD's)

For me this was an easy tool on XP - can I ask what is the most user friend and effective tool to recover data (should work well with Vista - On track does not).

ontrack crashes alot in vista,so stay away from it for vista
