hi guys had a external hd crash and want to recover some files from it.What software can i use and when i do the recovery can i recover it to an external usb harddrive? Hope i make sense

hey guys am back... i tried ontrack easy recovery pro but it just aint recovering any files . It takes like 2 hours to search but thats about it. Any other good recovery programme to recover files and folders or am i doing something wrong? I also used Recuva but that only finds pics and videos.

So guys what happens if the drive crashes and one of the lil transistor things on the underneath burns out. is it possible to get it fixed or recover from it? the computer wont even start when its connected to the system
