data roam on vodacom with virgin mobile SIM

Howdie all

A quick question for the gurus out there... is it possible to data roam on Vodacom's network with a Virgin Mobile SIM. If so, what is accessible... GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSDPA.

Just forced my phone with Virgin sim to Vodacom. Works fine.

Definitely not 3G. GPRS, (maybe EDGE, not sure).

Kewl, thanks for the info. I tried last night and it worked intermittently. I suspect that was GPRS though... would be very interested to hear if anyone has managed with EDGE. Would be great to get EDGE rates for effectively 50c... Vodacom seems to want to charge for EDGE data in the same league as HDSPA. Seems a little harsh.

I was able to use 3G with my Cell C simcard roaming Vodacom, havnt tried with a VM simcard.

Interesting... didn't think Vodacom would allow this! I assume you're being charged standard Cell C data rates for this service.

Nope. Just tried my N70 with CellC Sim. Forced to Vodacom. No luck and I'm in an excellent Voda 3G area.

MrG, how did you do this? Did you use any special software?
