Data Transfer Speed for USB 3 - FYI

Done some "speed tests".

Results:
Network - SSD 40MB/s
SSD - SS 105MB/s
SSD - HDD 60MB/s
HDD - SS 60MB/s
Network - SS 40MB/s


Intel i3 3.2GHz
8GB Ram
SSD - Kingston SV100
HDD - Seagate ST3400620AS
SS - Seagate Expansion External Desktop 2TB 3.5" USB 3 Hard Disc Drive.
Network - Gigabit

Using USB 3 PCI Express add on card from Transcend. Drivers installed of course.

Try using a RAM drive next time when you're doing those tests.

When I'm using a RAM drive, I'm getting 100MB/s read/write with my 2TB external that is EXT3 partitioned.

I wrote a file (can't remember what it was) to a friend's USB3 device. The slowest it wrote was 90-something megs/second. Awesome stuff that.
