Database Analyst / Developer – Azure, Data Warehousing, SSIS

Start Date: Immediate

Hours: Contract, hourly; immediate need for ETL Developer to work 8+ hours/day

Estimated duration: 4-6 months

Work location: Your home office



What You Will Be Doing

• Design and create data warehouse and all related ETL/ELT for applications in the international development, health care and insurance industries

• Produce technical/architectural specification and design/technical documents, as required
• Critically analyze business requirements and architect and implement design flows and data integration, reduce rework

• Implement stored procedures and effectively query databases
• Design and program data quality and exception reports as well as user displays
• Perform system design and write production code
• Identify and test for defects and bottlenecks in the ETL solution to ensure high performance and no data quality concerns
• Provide support and fix issues in the packages
• Data modeling including reading, analyzing and digesting what a client wants to accomplish with its data, and design the best possible ETL process around those goals
• Participate in defining and optimizing our software development process and best practices

What You Need for this Position

• Experience with SSIS and SQL Server; ability to deploy to and debug a production SSIS environment. XML experience
• Strong knowledge of data warehouse architecture techniques such as EDW, ODS, DM, ROLAP and MOLAP
• Experience in Azure Data technologies including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure HDInsight, Azure Databricks, etc
• 5+ years’ experience in data warehousing architecture and design
• 5+ years’ experience development of ETL
• In-depth knowledge of systems architecture, distributed development, web-services
• Extensive experience troubleshooting and solving complex technical problems
• Excellent communication skills and previous experience managing a team a plus
• Experience with tuning databases for optimal performance
• Some knowledge of C# a plus
