:mad:Hi,

For the last two weeks there has been this error when starting up the laptop, where it wont show the lan connection icon (2 pcs), and I can only get it do do so by starting up Outlook. It then startsup with either 'Loading Dataset' or 'Databinding' message, which can take up to 20 minutes to complete. Everything else freezes and it has to complete, or no connection.

What can the cause be an how to fix it please?

Thx

Does anyone have any advice pls? The biggest problem is that I get no network connection at all until I open Outlook and let the databinding process complete. I am guessing it is a corrupt file. But how to fix it? Thx

Give us a few more details: operating system, what sort of network are you connected to, that sort of thing.

Windows XP Pro. Right now, just connecting it to the LAN, at home. Problem is at startup it doesnt start the LAN icon? I have to open up Outlook first, which then loads the datasets, which seems to force the lan? Otherwise I cant open network connections or anything that requires that kind of access.

Try removing Outlook and see if the problem fixes itself - then reinstall Outlook.

Before that you might want to try loading the latest OS and Office service packs if your not already running them.
