Datamining the Disqus hack.

Recently there has been a bit of chatter on myBB with regards to tv licences. Looks harmless enough, but strap on the tinfoil and read on.

1. The Disqus hack contained email addresses
2. The tvlic lists contain email addresses. Together with address details, copy of id(possibly) etc etc
3. Nefarious commenters on the MyBB site posts have been asking if commenters have been paying their tvlic accounts.

Now if we assume the sabc dbs have been breached (likely), the aforementioned commenters are of course phishing.

So what? Some people are already in SABC's system and still don't pay and get threatened by lawyers and still don't even bother. Just like e-tolls, my e-toll bill go's straight to the bin every time, I don't even open them out of curiosity anymore.

More like pessimist, lol, but seriously, our info floating around for all and sundry to peruse at will is no joke, I'm surprised at how lax we are with personal info, it's mainly stupidity that stops fraud in Sa.
