Hi,

our company is getting the above installed some time this week, anyone have any experience with the package?

I'm curious about the "uncapped" part ... is it truely uncapped or is it a "fair usage policy" ???

Also, what is the shaping like? The DataPro guys say it is totally uncapped, and not a badly shaped as SAIX, and almost no shaping after hours????

Feedback would be appreciated :)

We haven't upgraded to the 1mb Datapro package yet, but that's only because we were so unimpressed with the 512k uncapped Datapro package we're on. Hopefully, you'll have a different experience but we've had ongoing international outages, slowdowns, peering issues and router configuration issues (on Datapro's side). It seems a little better this week but most of October was a disaster and their support wasn't very forthcoming. The thing to remember with Datapro is that they are at the mercy of IS and SAIX - and when IS or SAIX, or both, have problems you are one step away from the source - very often Datapro themselves don't seem to know what is going on upstream.

We don't have much luck with their 512 B-Uncapped package either? They use like a proxy/vpn type setup which doesn't really work

During the day International is so slow, however you must remeber this is an IS product, so IS really messing up at the moment not Datapro.

Apparently there's an AUP which means it's not truly "uncapped". Try and push 100gigs in a month and you'll get a friendly call for sure. That's if it's fast enough to push 100gigs in a month.

DataPro told me that they also have their own bandwidth in addition to what they get from IS and SAIX ... that is apparentley what makes them so "good" and able to offer such a competitive price.

There better not be an AUP ( ) as we specifically asked them about that, since we will be maxing or very nearly maxing our line 24/7

guess I will soon find out!

I specifically asked "what if we put 100Gig a month through the line" and their salespeople said "thanks for being honest, the price is now 4 grand a month".

We're going to buy 10xSAOL 10GB accounts as it's cheaper and I've heard SAIX is faster than IS/Datapro. We don't need a static IP address.
