Date Factory

Thanks! I just checked, that doesn't happen on my 1920 wide screen. It does happen on smaller resolutions though.

It's on my 4k monitor, mostly when you scroll further down in the page. It doesn't happen at the top.

And no it's not just a cardboard box. The secrecy is part of the appeal, we have found that people love it!

The secrecy is fine, I wouldn't mind getting a secret box, but I'd want a sample 'concept' pic to get an idea of the type of thing I'm getting. Like I say, I wouldn't pay money for a picture of a cardboard box and your promise that it's good stuff.

Ok I hear what you're saying. Maybe something like this?

That was a post when we were just getting started, I think that was the very first box.

I was actually looking for other people who had similar experiences to what we had and stumbled upon your post. If you haven't tried them, don't. I would not recommend it at all!

We ordered one of their R 650 boxes for our anniversary and it basically consisted of 2 chocolates, make your own melktert shooter, a packet of chips, two super cheesy activities (with glow in the dark paint) and some scratch cards.

I contacted them about getting a refund and they had the following to say "Kindly remember that it is a convenience product that you took a chance on, so yes, you could have done it yourself, you are right, but you decided to spend your time differently and pay someone else to do it for you. It is almost like gambling, you took a chance and it didn't work out the way that you anticipated."

I called them after and they were not happy, they kept dodging my request for a refund, saying that "everyone" enjoyed their boxes and that if you go to Grand West and you gamble you don't always win. She then ended up calling me unprofessional, saying I need to understand her point of view and eventually said they might consider a refund if I return the box (at my own cost) and if they deem it worthy of a refund.

I would suggest going on Pinterest and just making your own box, it doesn't have the surprise element but at least you know you'll get a good product.

How about you ask them if they have a gambling licence? I've been considering them for a while now, but the above review makes it a complete no-no.

It's simply math folks.

R385 for the monthly box.
Less R50 for the MyBB discount
Less R100 for shipping
Less R100 for profit (guestimate, but hell, they've got to make a living right?)
So R135 value of goods in your box
Less packaging - say R20 a printed box.
So R115 value of goods in your box.

Second box the discount falls away, so theoretically R165 value in your box.

That's how I disseminate & ascribe "value" to propositions such as this.
