English soccer star David Beckham says he prefers watching live rugby to his own sport, The Telegraph reports.
The former England and Manchester United icon said the “nastiness” displayed by some football crowds had made him feel “uneasy”.
The Rugby World Cup had shown him how people could sit together pleasantly at a game.
“I love rugby,” he told the Radio Times. “I love watching it and I love the whole thing. I have enjoyed going to Twickenham more than I have enjoyed watching football.”
When asked why, the 40-year-old elaborated: “People sitting together with no nastiness.”
