tl;dr version: Biden administration convinced a lot of people that AI was going to go Terminator mode. Biden staffers now part of Anthropic which is pushing for strict global governance to control all AI. It's not a good thing. Elon Musk signaling impending doom every week hasn't helped and only gave the other side more fuel.
