Is every city different?

Yesterdays match I simply booked at Computicket (R50.00), collected the ticket and drove to WITS. Bus took me there and back - and all was good.

Now thinking of a DBN match next week and nothing on computicket?

As far as I know, you don't have to pay for the shuttle service here, just pitch up with your ticket at Gateway, Pavilion or Galleria.

Yes its free, be prepaired to wait when leaving the stadium,
Any one know if the trains are safe, it willl be via bell air area, since the train stops right next to the stadium

Here's what I posted about the shuttle service from Sunday:

I ended taking park and ride from Pavilion, worked very well

Got to the Pav at 4, got straight into a taxi bus, was at Workshop parking by 16:20
From there you can either take a big bus to the stadium (long queue) or walk, we decided to walk as we had plenty time
You walk along NMR Ave, once you get to the station/Sasol garage (about 1KM) you can choose to carry on walking or take the train, we chose the train
Waited around 10 mins for it to arrive, from there it drops you at the Mabhida station right outside the stadium, we were there just after 5

On the way home, straight onto train, no delay at all. Then walked back to the park & ride area, got there around 23:10, waited about 40 mins for a bus, so got back to the Pav around midnight. The Pavilion had 4 "bus stops" each of which I guess probably had 3 busses

All in all it worked very well, the only waiting period was the last bus which was expected. Plenty cops & helpers all along the route so there were no safety concerns at all

Anybody else taking the Galleria Shuttles?

Galleria definitely had the least people using it, the Pav & Gateway queues at the end were much longer then Galleria's
Just try get back to the shuttle area as quickly as possible after the match so you can get the 1st batch of busses

I used the galleria shuttle. all smooth. Probably took 10mins from taking the stadium shuttle to leaving workshop parking.

We tried the shuttle on Sunday from the Pav. The journey to the stadium was a breez. Boarded a shuttle immediately, got off at the workshop and boarded a bus (short wait 10-20 mins). Took us about 30 mins to get to the stadium as opposed to us driving all the way there on a normal day.

Trip back was a nightmare. Had our kids (aged 5 and 8). Waited for a bus from stadium to the workshop and then waited at the workshop for a bus to the Pav. We got home at 01h30 on Monday morning, or 01h10 to the Pav.

Yesterday we took the train from Escombe Station. Got there early. Boarded around 13h30. Got the stadium at 14h30. Way back was a breeze. We got home in time to grab a quick meal along the way and still watch the anthems for the Bafana game. Lots of people used the trains. Heavy police presence and it was safe. Guards at Escombe station the whole time looking after the cars.

eish, what time did you get back to the workshop that you waited so long?
We got there at 23:10 & were on the bus at 23:50 (bus stop 2)

Good to know, might consider that even though I don't think any stations close to me are being used
