I have a Synology DS220+ NAS (12V 5A) which I have connected to a regular inline UPS.
The UPS is connected to the NAS with a USB cable which controls the automatic orderly shutdown of the NAS in the event of a power outage, and thereafter the shutdown of the UPS itself. When the mains power is restored, the UPS wakes up which in turn wakes up the NAS.
This setup works flawlessly.
However, I would now like to change the setup so that the NAS can stay powered up continuously throughout a load shedding session, so I have started researching DC to DC UPS units that use Lithium Ion batteries.
I am yet to find a DC to DC UPS that will have sufficient power to keep my NAS going for at least 2 hours.
Can anyone recommend a solution for me?
