DD-WRT on Linksys WDR4300

Hi Guys,

I have poor wifi coverage in my house with my TP-Link WDR4300 router. Now in all the reading i have done i see that flashing DD-WRT is a suggestion and its quite easy to flash DD-WRT onto my TP-Link router.

Anybody care to share some advise on what I should be changing to improve my wifi network with DD-WRT.

Have no idea if it will improve your wifi coverage but it sure whips the stock firmware in every department. If you can do it just go ahead, you won't be disappointed.

Looks easy enough to flash. Thing is that something dumber is better for me. Too many settings and options, and i might make things worse. Thats why i am trying to find the key things to change - google is not helping at the moment.

I prefer gargoyle. (have a 3600, which is basically the same as yours, but with a different radio setup)

Havent heard of gargoyle before. Since i am useless with this stuff, i think its better to go with something which is more widely used - so that i can get support on issues.

TBH, I'd still go with Gargoyle. It is simpler to use for most users. It is pretty much Open-WRT with a different interface that allows bandwitdh usage monitoring. I'd take Open-WRT over DD-WRT...
