So my internet has pretty much been flawless for the year I've stayed in my apartment.
Last week Friday I was in a game of RUST when myself and a friend walked passed another player, being the PVP game that it is, we decided to kill him.

5 Minutes after this happened I got a PM from the player "You will regret doing that", after 30 mins my internet dropped.

Since then my internet has been up and down 4 days.

I assume its a DDoS attack by this player, is there anyway I can contact admins (Intoxicated RUST server) and get his name or IP to report him? Can the police be involved?

I am pretty desperate at this point, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Reset your router and you should get a new ip address.

Reset your router and you should get a new ip address.

Tried that, also called Telkom to reset my port. Still drops intermittently.

Would that mean that its not a DDoS? After doing research I see they get your IP from your Skype name, so if you get a new IP they can just fetch it form your Skype connection.

LOL have you changed ISP to test if you still getting 'DOS'? get a afrihost 1gb account to test lol.

You're probably getting the same IP address. Switch of the router and wait a few hours. You'll probably get a new IP address then.

Or check what the IP is before and after router reset. If it changes then it's not a DDoS.

Thanks man, that's a logical answer, but after doing research I see they get your IP from your Skype name, so if you get a new IP they can just fetch it from your Skype connection.

To test your theory, exit from skype and reset your router, and don't restart Skype

Lol, was it a headshot to piss him that much?

That's what you get. Rust is a PVP game yes but that does not mean murdering everyone you see.

The overseas servers has some friendly people but the intoxicated community is, yeah, toxic.
I understand this is rust and we can't see what someone is packing yet, but jeez have some balls and talk to the person before you start peppering him with bullets.

And I am not moaning, I get it, you want the loot or you're scared he might take yours... but jeez people, we have mics - the game could be made so much more better if people just used them.

Now where's the fun in that..? It's a game, it shouldn't affect real life even if someone's a sore loser.

All seems to be ok now, not sure if he stopped the DDoS or it was just a line issue and HUGE coincidence.

Thanks for the help!
