Good MOrning

I have a BIOSTAR g31M+ motherboard, with 1gig DDR2-800 RAM.
If I add another 1GIG of ram, will it make a noticeable difference on my pc? I use my pc for applications such as VisualStudio, Corel draw, etc - pc is generally fast enough, but for those large programs its a bit slow

Will it make a difference adding 1 GIG? Anyone know if I will find cheaper DDR2-800 RAM (1GIG) - price I found is R189.00? or R350 for 2 GIG

THank you

It will make a BIG difference.

Unless you have a 64bit OS don't try using more than 3GB of RAM.

That price seems about right.

Great! Thank you. I have 32bit. so won't go higher than 3 GIG.

Is it worth it to get a new processor? or not? Here are the specs of my current motherboard:

We can't say if its worth it to upgrade your CPU if you haven't told us what you have yet...

Try and find yourself a second hand quad core cpu. Celeron is pretty kuk.

The new price of the top CPU chip for your 775 motherboard is quite high. Even higher than the most current Intel release.

Maybe try and get a used one or upgrade in a few months when Intel gets their act together or their rival, AMD, brings out something better.

celeron is pretty much the worst lot of the batch that they lock down and sell as budget chips.... you can get a 2ndhand dualcore for less than R700 that will run circles around it.
