Ok,

so i got 2x2gb ddr800 and when i placed both into the ram slots the machine wouldnt boot up at all.i took one out and it booted up.i then switched the stick and tried the other one alone and the pc wont boot up.i tried all 4 slots aswell and all the same result.is the one stick i got faulty more than likely?
the only way to test is in another machine but its probably fried ?

You've answered you're own question, it is almost certainly faulty.

I thought your title meant that DDR RAM was "dead" and being replaced by something else.

Dude! You bought that ram from me! Would have been nice if you confronted me before this. The RAM is still under warranty, send it back to me and i'll have it replaced for you. It was working 100% before i sent it.

You were supposed to install one module at a time too

what mobo do you have?

sent you a pm
